We adored Jethro and Lakin's engagement photo shoot. It may have been the beautiful sunset that attracted us. It may have been the darling puppy. It may even have been the toasted marshmallows and biscuits. Who knows!
Their photo shoot was definitely a little out of the ordinary, hidden away from the world, just them, their love for each other and a roaring fire. Have a look below to see more of this beautiful couple!
Where did you meet each other?
We met 8 years ago while I was still at school and had a Tourism project on a Bed & Breakfast in East London. Jethro was a manager at Jemima's but we were both involved in other relationships at the time so nothing came of it. We met again on a night out in 2015 and hit it off straight away. Jethro asked me out to dinner and then failed to arrive! We still laugh about this incident today! He did eventually show up on my birthday in December and things developed from there.
What attracted you to each other?
Our conversations about food! We love to cook together and spend quality time with each other. Jethro says it was my smile that captivated him. Jethro's respect, manners and gentleness is what attracted me to him.
How did your fiancé choose your ring?
Whenever we went shopping and passed jewellery stores I'd pull him inside and try on different types of rings until he figured out what looked best on my finger.
What was the inspiration behind your engagement photo shoot?
We went to book our wedding night accommodation at The Edge Boutique Bed and Breakfast in Gonubie and we just fell in love with the venue, the view, the hospitality and Tracey's puppy! We thought it would be pretty special to have photos taken at our wedding accommodation. We wanted a place where we could be ourselves - away from the world, in our own little secluded paradise.
How are you finding the wedding planning? Challenging or is it running smoothly?
I am finding it extremely challenging as I do not do well in making decisions. It is a beautiful process but the stress that comes with the planning is sometimes overwhelming. Merging my dreams with reality is a lot harder than it seems.
We don't want to spoil the surprise, but tell us what you can about your big day?
We wanted a farm style wedding as Jethro's family grew up on their farm out at Waqu just outside of Cathcart. So we will be having our wedding at The Blue Barn. It is going to have a very relaxed vibe and will not be your typical traditional wedding.
